Rules & Code

How the Editor adjudicates the circle.

The site is a court of record. Like any court, it owes the circle a methodology and a Code. Both are below.

Cycle

The Schools Board and the Players Board are both reviewed every forty-eight hours. The full national top fifty publishes Sundays at 18:30 UTC. Per-region and per-class boards publish at the same cadence with regional and class-specific rubrics applied.

Sources

The Editor draws from four primary boards:

  • The USA Hacky Sack League's national top fifteen.
  • NJ Sack and NJ House of Sack's class-of-2027 stall leader board.
  • Prep Sack's national 5-Star Sackers.
  • The IS Preps Tech 5.

Reader-submitted source tape and program-confirmed engagement are also weighed. The Editor's adjudication is final, but informed.

Rubric

Each region verse and class verse has a custom rubric — reflected on the verse page. National scores combine the region rubric for schools and the class rubric for players, with a 65/35 weighting toward editorial subjective scoring vs. community vote, respectively.

Nominations

Members may nominate one new entry per month; Patrons may nominate three; the Editor's Circle may nominate three plus suggest news directly. Nominations require a name, a school or program, and at least one piece of verifiable source tape.

Editor's Role

The Editor adjudicates rank, removes entries on request, and freezes ranks for any program or player whose presence on the board would be inappropriate (injury recovery, family bereavement, coach removal). Frozen ranks remain visible but are excluded from cycle math.

The Code

The four lines of the Code govern every page on the site:

  • No "Sorries." The bag is dropped, the round resets, the circle continues.
  • Sack On. Used to close, mark a save, or affirm the circle.
  • No Sackrilege. Disrespect of the circle, the bag, or the program will be removed by the Editor.
  • The bag belongs to the circle, not the individual. Hoarding, posturing, and footbabbling all degrade the rallies. The site mirrors that.

Removal & corrections

Any program or player may request removal at any time. The Editor honors the request without question and does not republish unless reauthorized. Corrections may be filed via the Editor or via the Community page. Corrections are reviewed within forty-eight hours.

Ages & consent

No player under fourteen will be ranked, and no player will be ranked without consent of their school or program. Pseudonymous players (Berwick Hippie, Pink Shirt La Salle, Deerfield Bleach Buzz, AOF Bouse Mogger, Leprechaun) have explicitly consented to the inclusion of their nickname; the Editor honors any subsequent request to remove or rename.
